One of the first tasks of my new year was to send out “thank-you” cards to everyone I had received gifts from this Christmas season. Easy right? It would have been, however I needed to find masculine-looking cards since they would also be from my boyfriend. What I found was a boxed set of eco-friendly blank notecards by Greenroom. Green, versatile, and man-approved (by my boyfriend) the cards features a wood grain texture on the front, available in green or a teal color, (other prints also available).

The specific article's link is: Scrunci Eco Hair Clips, Elastics and More Hair Products

I stopped at my local Walgreens today to pick up a new hair clip since the teeth on my old one finally gave out.

I was grabbing a two pack of Scrunci hair clips and spotted for the same price a two pack of 100% recycled Scrunci eco clips. The recycled hair clips have the same quality and hold that we come to expect from Scrunci and are a product I would highly recommend.

Scrunci has some other great eco friendly and environmentally conscious products out now as well including bamboo hair elastics and much more! I love their slogan on the eco products too, “Use your head, save the planet” cute!

All of the Scrunci eco and bamboo products are very comparable in price to the non eco-conscious products they produce; so consider switching the next time you need to pick up new hair products. We as consumers need to put our money where our mouths are and buy eco when we spout eco!

These clips and elastics make great green stocking stuffers for the upcoming holiday season as well!

This feed comes from Green Behavior
The specific article's link is: Post-consumer, Pre-consumer and Recycled Content

I am constantly noticing new terms on packaging. One that caught my eye recently was post-consumer content. After a little bit of research I learned there were two similar labeling phrases, and the three are often compared and confused with each other.

Pre-consumer Content

Pre-consumer products are made from materials that would otherwise have been discarded. Examples of pre-consumer content would be trimmings from packaging, or items rejected by quality control during the manufacturing process.

There are more than 4,500 recycled-content products available - a number that continues to increase. Many of the products you buy contain recycled-content.

Post-consumer Content

Post-consumer content is a material that has served its intended purpose and has been discarded. The discarded material, usually what you toss in your recycling bin, is then re-purposed and used as post-consumer content.

Recycled Content

Recycled content might be made of any combination of post-consumer content and recycled content. Recycled content is not necessarily or primarily produced from a typical local recycling program as the name might lead you to believe.

No kind of recycling is any better than the other. Obviously we strive to reuse content again and again as many times as possible, so seeing more post-consumer content coming into the market will be exciting for all of us.
