Ways to Truly Green up Your Office

Posted on June 3, 2015October 20, 2015 By Kristin No Comments on Ways to Truly Green up Your Office

We are all probably aware of the state the environment is in practically in any urban area of our planet. There are numerous activities all around the world with the aim to improve the state nature is in, targeted at consequences and primarily with sources of such devastating pollution. Te majority of us is truly in position to do something about the major causes, but all of us can contribute in various different ways. If you conduct your business from an office, home or any other one, here is what you could do to green it up and make a personal contribution.

Color

Painting office walls is something that is done at least every couple of years. The next time you do this, use eco-friendly paints. If you think about the fact that it is estimated that producing one liter of conventional paint can result in up to 30 liters of toxic waste, every can of eco-friendly paint counts. Also, take the opportunity to choose one of many light enhancing colors available, for the reason that follows.

Furniture

The trend of green furniture production and usage continues to grow and it was high time you joined. Not only will you ecologically contribute but you will make your office a prettier place to be. In a recent talk with the people behind Rockdale Office Furnishers, I find out that the offer furniture materials and designs that comply with eco-friendly standards has been on a steady increase in recent times. To be frank, I was amazed by what I saw.

 Naturalize Lighting

Enhance the use of natural light by maximizing the window surface in your office. Keep them impeccably clean at all times, get rid of thick curtains and let as much light in as possible. The aim is to reduce the consumption of electricity, thus preserve natural resources that are becoming ever scarcer.

Other Electric Energy Savings

Use power saving light bulbs and turn of the lights when ever you leave the office. This may seem trivial, but if everyone did it, the use of electricity will be significantly lower. Replace your old electrical equipment with energy efficient one, if not immediately then surely the first time you buy new items. This will make a significant difference in power consumption.

 Digitalize

Go digital with all possible documentation your line of business allows for. In our digital and electronic signatures era, vast majority of companies can do this to a great extent. Avoid printing everything that comes in hand, and if you need to print something, do use recycled printing paper and recycled cartridges filled with eco-friendly paint.

Get Out of Your Car

Transportation is behind one third of greenhouse gas emission, the major cause of global warming whose fatal consequence we experience severely in the last two decades and unfortunately will continue to do so even longer. Immediate contributions are needed, and can be easily made. Therefore, leave your car in the garage, walk to work, ride a bicycle or use public transportation.

As you can see, there are a lot of ways a contribution to environmental conditions can be made by any office, regardless of the line of work and location. Remember, every contribution is important and makes a direct impact on saving the environment. Also, setting a good example can turn out to be as valuable, every person that follows is important.
